Stitch Oxford
In celebration of our 10th anniversary, Oxford Yarn Store invited people of all ages and abilities to contribute a 20cm x 20cm square, inspired by something that represents Oxford for them. Whether they chose to knit, stitch, crochet, or weave, we were delighted by each unique piece.
Participants were encouraged to use any material or method, making it an ideal project for using up leftover craft materials or the ends of yarn balls. The only request was to ensure that the edge/border of each square could be sewn to another.
Every square we received was lovingly stitched into a blanket that was proudly displayed at the Oxfordshire County Library. Visitors were given the chance to sponsor the blanket in support of the Oxford Food Hub. We were truly overwhelmed by your generosity and are thrilled to announce that our community raised over £1000!
As a token of our gratitude, each contributor received a free limited edition anniversary tote bag and was entered into a raffle for some fantastic prizes. Thank you for being such a special part of this memorable event!
We are currently searching for a permanent home for the blanket so as many people as possible can enjoy this piece of Oxford History. Please let us know if you know of anywhere!
